Jacpot Stays Home and Chris Goes on a Lonely Run

In the last year and a half Jacpot has kept me company on all of my runs except for a few, and today was one of those. With the temperature at 101 degrees I decided it was a little too hot to take Jacpot for a run in the desert with me. Since I went back to work, Cindy has been taking Jacpot to the park in the mornings where he visits with all of his dog and people friends. Jacpot also plays ambassador and says hello to anyone that is new and encourages a game of frisbee. Unfortunately Cindy is not good about taking the camera so I have no pictures.

Jacpot also wants to say congratulations to Jennie who just got her black belt last night. Now both Jennie and Jacob both have black belts and they are not even out of elementary school... Jacpot is impressed.

Finally, we are excited for good buddy Jeff Mitchell for being 95% completed with his book about the near death experience of his old friend in the Alaskan waters, and he has a new blog From The Wing To The Wedge.. We are looking forward to reading Jeff's book after it is published.

Jacpot Relaxes With The Seals

Jacpot and Chris had a nice Sunday morning run and watched the sunrise over the Antelope Valley. After the run Cindy and Chris drove to Channel Islands to visit brother Eric and Cherie and the four of us rode out to Anacapa Island on their Seadoos. Eric and Cherie pulled a couple kayaks behind them so that we could paddle through the arch and a few sea caves. Jacpot was officially on the run but unofficially joined us out at Anacapa Island with the help of Photoshop.

Jacpot Finds His Running Buddy

The weather was cloudy with light sprinkles this morning which helped for a fairly cool summer morning run. While out on the trails Jacpot spotted some runners off into the distance.

Jacpot Goes To Europe

We had a great time in Europe with my parents, brother Eric and wife Cherie and her parents, and Jacpot with a little help from Photoshop. After spending a couple of nights in London, we hopped on the cruise ship and went to Guernsey, Ireland, North Ireland, England, Scottland, and France.

Jacpot Gets Picked Up From Camp Hurst

We returned from our European Cruise on Friday night and picked up Jacpot from Camp Hurst, and then took for for the mountains Saturday morning. Jacpot seems to have enjoyed all of his actvities on the Camp Hurst agenda. While I was away, apparently I lost me seat in the weekly poker game. I have been informed that Jacpot is a much better player than I, and walked away with more chips than I usualy do. Perhaps if Jacpot keeps taking their money they will realize it was better having me in the game.

Jacpot Goes To Camp Hurst For A Couple Of Weeks

We have returned to Palmdale for a few days to get ready for our cruise in Europe. Unfortunately the ship won't allow Jacpot to come along so he is going to Camp Hurst for the next 15 days.

Jacpot Hikes To Sword Lake

After our trip around the lake this morning we returned for breakfast and then made sandwiches for our trip to Sword Lake. After a 6 mile drive on uppaved road we got to the trailhead and Cindy, Cindy, Judy, Teresa, Steve, Warren, Chris, and Jacpot set off for a 3 mile hike but many thought it was closer to 4 and uphill both ways!

Jacpot Gets Cloned

The Shores, Danns, and Labrenzes have left, and our time in the moutains is getting near the end. The Hursts are still here and we had another nice trip around the lake this morning. My trip around was not my best because I forgot my running shoes and had to go around in my flip flops. Jacpot ran ahead with Teresa and little Cindy. Before the Labrenzes left, Mitch gave Cindy some lessons in Photoshop and one of the pictures she worked on is below.

Jacpot Cruises On The Party Boat

Jacpot has enjoyed the excitement of all the people this last week. We have enjoyed seeing the: Groenvelds, Slattums, Laurel Engstrom (missed seeing Mike), Shores, Danns, Labrenzs, and Hursts.

Mark, Garrett, Mitch, and Chris went for a 3 day backpacking trip, next time hopefully Jacpot will come along.

Yesterday we went out on a party boat, as well as a 5 mile hike and Jacpot still had enough energy to play all night with new friend Ollie (Slattum's dog) on the deck. With 23 people over for a Turkey feast, there was plenty of good times for every person and dog.

Jacpot Walks On Water

Jacpot continues to have a great time in the mountains. We have enjoyed visits by brother Dave, Brandon, and Joe. The next wave will of people will be arriving shortly, and Jacpot is ready.
