It looks like we won't get Christmas Cards out this year as we leave for Fresno this morning and then the mountain cabin. Cindy, Chris and of course Jacpot, wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Below are some pictures during Thanksgiving I never posted.

Jacpot Enjoys A Snowy Day In Palmdale

We were expecting the possiblility of snow today in Palmdale, but nobody expected this much, so far at least 8 inches and still falling. School was cancelled early for Cindy and I was home early due to finals week. Below are a few shots from today.

And school has been cancelled for tomorrow.

Jacpot Goes on the Mend

It has been a while since the last post. This is due to a couple of factors:

1. My camera went bad, I don't know if this is due to...

A. Taking it out on the Waverunners with Eric on the ocean.
B. Taking it many places and dropping it on the ground often.
or C. It was a pretty cheap camera to begin with.

I have now received my new camera in the mail. It is a Pentax Optio V20 and I bought it on Woot.com for a little over $100, a quick search shows the camera costs about $200 or more everywhere else. Everyday and only that day, Woot.com has a new item they sale for a good price.
2. Last week Cindy, Jacpot, and I went to play some frisbee at the park and on one of his catches Jacpot came down on his right leg funny and injured it. Every day he gets a little better and he is almost walking normal. Here is some video of him a couple of days after the injury.

We finally got around to ordering a DNA test online for Jacpot. A package came in the mail and instructed us to take a swab on the inside of his mouth with the given "Q-Tip" and send it back. In the next couple of days we should get the conclusion on what breed(s) Jacpot is, or at least what they think he is. I still think he has a little chihuaha in him, but as his weight nears 60 pounds that is looking less and less likely. Take a look at the picture below and leave a comment what breeds you think he has in him.

Jacpot Goes To Cold Springs

We had another great time in Cold Springs. Unfortunately I am having troubles with my camera so until I get a new camera my picture quality is unreliable. For now the only good picture I have of the weekend is the one below I nabbed off off Dave's blog.
The Hurst's and the White's joined us for a few days filled with partly cloudy weather. We even got some rain and snow on Saturday evening through Sunday morning. Jacpot, Teresa, and Cindy (little) ran around the lake every morning.

Jacpot Likes Being The Big Bad Wolf

We were a little lazy for halloween and Jacpot didn't dress up, but he made a good "Big Bad Wolf" when Little Red Riding Hood (Jennie) stopped by.

Jacob made a good lego as well.

Jacpot Searches For Morro Rock

We went to Morro Bay for the weekend, but Jacpot was a little confused where he was because he couldn't see Morro Rock. Every where we went he seemed a little lost but kept on looking.

Last Time I was Here the Rock was right over there, who could have moved the rock?

None of these guys seem to know where the rock is either.

We went to San Luis Obispo for lunch and had Mongolian BBQ and listened to the band. Jacpot still can't find the rock even with all the sunshine.

No Morro Rock here.... HEY, Who's that guy with Chris?

Played frisbee at some parks on Saturday and Sunday but still can't find that rock.

We went back to the beach on Sunday. Even if I point my ears back and squint my eyes I can't see anything that looks like a big rock.

Still no big rock, but I see some big Elephant Seals on the dock.

Again, no rock, but a lot of neat pelicans diving for fish.

What do you know, there's Morro Rock, it was there all this time behind the fog.

Jacpot Goes To Camp Hurst We Go To Ventura

We had a great time visiting brother Eric and Cherie in Ventura. Eric and I rode the waverunners from his place at Channel Islands out to Anacapa Island. The ocean was a little rough but that made the experience all that more fun. Below is a video of our encounter with the dolphins below. Jacpot was unable to come along and he went to Camp Hurst. I will post pictures of his stay as soon as I get them. Below is Kelly posing with the bottle of wine we brought that reminded us their cats.

Jacpot Goes To Bark At The Park

We had a great day attending the full day event at Lancaster City Park. We walked around and looked at all the booths. Some of the things Jacpot did today was get clocked by a radar gun (only 18 mph... I don't think he tried very hard), go in Finders Keepers playground where he got to go in and pick out a toy. watch Chalcy perform... the dog from the book 101 dog tricks, and comptete in the novice division for the frisbee throwing competition... see results below.

A lot of interesting looking dogs attended.

Jacpot and Cindy walk around to see all the different booths.

A couple of puppies hang out and relax.

I was a little late snapping the picutre but you can see the splash...

Jacpot is ready to start the second and final round of the competition.

Jacpot won 2nd place out of 16 dogs at the novice level. Below he proudly wears his Silver Medal.

The three winners below pose for a picture. 1st place is in the middle and 3rd is flashing his behind for the camera.

Here is a little video of Jacpot in the competitions first round.

Jacpot Goes To Jerry's 70th Birthday Party

We celebrated Jerry's 70th birthday last week in Cold Springs. Jacpot and I ran around the lake each morning and the whole family walked around Pinecrest Saturday.
Shirley bought everone "Life is Good" t-shirts to go along with the "Life is Good Birthday Party" so we all had to pose for a picture in them.
Chris, Cindy, David, Shirley, Jacpot, and Jerry
Jacpot gives a wink to the camera.
Jacpot hangs out with the birthday boy.
After a walk around Pinecrest we visited the Art Gallery.

Jacpot supervised the patch up job by Dave.
Happy Birthday Jerry!

Jacpot Goes on the Musical Road

A few weeks ago Honda installed grooves in the road in Lancaster for a commercial they were shooting. Driving a car over the road at 55 mph is supposed to act like a needle on a record and play the William Tell Overture (theme from Lone Ranger). There are only 5 "singing roads" in the world and this is the only one in the U.S. Unfortunatlely they made it too close to some houses and due to complaints of them not being able to sleep at night they are paving it over this Monday.

I'm not sure how much Jacopt enjoyed the musical road, but I think he enjoyed playing ball this morning much more. In two weeks is Bark At The Park and I read they will be having a place where they will measure your dog's speed with a radar gun. Jacpot is pretty fast so I think that will be fun to see. They also have a frisbee contest and I am not sure if we will enter Jacpot as he is easily distracted but if the timing is right we may give it a shot. Below is a little taste of his speed.

Jacpot Runs

Jacpot and I have had a very inactive week due to work and taking a night class. This Saturday morning while reading the paper and having no intentions of going for a run, Jacpot gave me the "what are we still doing here if you don't have to go to work" look. We headed out the door and before you know it we were at the top of the hills enjoying the sunrise.

This look below is the one that says... "We had our water break, now let's get going"!

Jacpot's stay at Camp Hurst

Just got a few pictures from Teresa regarding Jacpot's stay with them. We had gone up to the Bay Area for Cindy's grandma's funeral. I can see why Jacpot has been wanting to go back ever since.

Jacpot Sits

Not a very exciting post. "Jacpot Sits" What's up with that? We just had a nice time this morning playing at the dog park and then went out in the main park area and worked on sitting and staying, and come. Something we haven't been working on lately like we should.

For some better entertainment below is a nice video of man's best friend.

Jacpot Has A Barbecue

The Whites and Hursts stopped by for a barbecue and swimming. Later in the evening Brandon, Joe, and Harley arrived to stay the night as they were passing through on their way to do some work on Brandon's moms place in Ridgecrest.
Jacpot is eager for Jacob to come down and say hello.
Jennie enjoys the view with Curious George.
Jacob works on perfecting his form while Jacpot watches.
Jennie and Jacpot have fun playing together.
Jacpot makes sure the water is all clear before Jennie dives in.
The triple J's. Jennie, Judy, and Jacpot.

Jacpot, and Harley hang out the next morning.
Jacpot's guests relax after dinner.

Another successful Barbecue! :-)
